Daily itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica

Accommodation: Villa San Ignacio Hotel.  The evening is free for you to relax and prepare for the exciting journey ahead. The hotel does have a restaurant (your meal is not included).

Day 2

 San Jose to Drake Bay Corcovado Wilderness Lodge

Transportation: All flights and transport included

Flight: 50-minute non-stop flight from San Jose to Drake Bay

Upon arrival in Drake Bay, we will take a scenic boat ride 30 mins to Corcovado Wilderness Lodge. (all food included, alcoholic beverages not included).. This lodge is set above a palm-fringed beach on a 189-acre property of pristine rainforest, flanked by 250,000 acres of National Park and Reserves. Here, we will be joined by a local guide who will lead us to local wildlife and birding hotspots, offering numerous photography opportunities, Many opportunities will be available right at the lodge itself.

DAY 3

Corcovado Wilderness Lodge

Morning: Day photography outing

Midday: Quiet time

Evening: Night macro photography session our guide is well known for his night macro photography. Exploring the forest at fight will be an experience you will never forget. 

Enjoy the lodge's prime location surrounded by Corcovado National Park, offering unmatched adventure and first-class service. The lodge features luxury accommodations immersed in the tropical forest, uniting you with the untouched nature of the Osa Peninsula. The lodge also offers an amazing spa for relaxation.

Day 4

Corcovado Wilderness Lodge to Sirena Station

Transportation: Boat to Sirena Station, Corcovado

Accommodation: Basic but comfortable, food included

Depart the lodge for Sirena Station by boat. The lodge will provide a locked space for bags being left behind. Sirena Station offers comfortable and basic accommodations. Pack light for this part of the journey.

Please read carefully. The ranger station has around 150 bunk beds available to tours. They are covered with mosquito netting but are arranged in a large open space with a room covering. It's an amazing experience to hear all the jungle noises but I highly recommend ear plugs. Do not expect to have WIFI or plug ins to charge batteries. We can not leave the platform after dark but we will be getting up early to enjoy all the park has to offer as the sun comes up. We will travel light and we will be able to leave extra gear at the Lodge in a locked room. 


Absolutely no single use plastic is allowed in the park. We can refill reusable water bottles. No Snacks are allowed. Bags are checked. If you have blood sugar issues I suggest a letter from a Doctor and a small well organized kit in a reusable waterproof pouch.

Day 5

Sirena Station

Explore Sirena Station, hiking with our camera gear to capture the diverse wildlife.

DAY 6

Return to Corcovado Wilderness Lodge

Transportation: Boat back to the lodge

Return to Corcovado Wilderness Lodge in the afternoon.

Day 7

Corcovado Wilderness Lodge

Morning: Rest and download pictures, enjoy a spa treatment (not included), or self-led photography opportunities in the lodge and surrounding gardens.

Evening: Our guide will decide on our adventure based on wildlife availability in the area, followed by a night macro photography shoot.

Day 8

Departure from Drake Bay and Return/Fly to San Jose. Book Flights after 3pm or stay another night at Villa San Ignacio Hotel.

Originally from the wild and beautiful landscapes of Australia, Dee has spent her life exploring some of the world’s most stunning ecosystems, from growing up in Australia's outback to her current life split between the biodiverse rainforests of Costa Rica and beautiful and pristine Rocky Mountains.
