Sleep under the stars in the world of the bear
Our Bear Camps are a multi-day, truly immersive bear-viewing experience in the remote wilderness of the Alaska Peninsula, putting you in the incredibly scenic heart of coastal brown bear country. Join group leader, award-winning photographer, and Canon ambassador Jacquie Matechuk on this once-in-a-lifetime experience! Photography opportunities are near-limitless in this environment, and we will be shooting in all lighting conditions, from the time we wake up until the time we go to bed (without the time constraints of a same-day pickup). The magic that happens when we are alone in Katmai and all is quiet is something that cannot be described, just experienced.
*This trip will be run through Alaska Bear Camps, our sister company, with Scott & Jackie Stone as guides and Jacquie Matechuk as the group leader/host for Focus Photo Tours. Both Alaska Bear Camps & Focus Photo Tours are permitted to offer this trip through a National Park Service commercial use authorization. We do offer several camps outside of this Focus-specific tour; please visit alaskabearcamps.com for more information.

Every possible photography option, as you’re on the ground sharing the days with the bears and camping right there with them, eliminating flying back and forth every day to location or being shuttled to and from a noisy ship and missing all the good light.
Guests can see up to two dozen + bears per day at this location
Potential to see moose, red foxes, wolves, and a passing wolverine. This location has a high probability of wolf viewing as they are seen often, and I have them patterned from my years of experience here.
Learn from group leader, award-winning photographer, and Canon Ambassador Jacquie Matechuk, as well as Focus co-owners, guides, and outfitters Scott & Jackie Stone, whose combined knowledge of photography & the brown bears of Katmai National Park offer the best experience possible to our guests.
